The Comprehensive Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) rose from the ashes of the ambitious yet controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP). Following the withdrawal of the US from the TPP, cynics doubted the survival of the agreement without the support of the world’s largest economy. They were proven wrong when the remaining 11 signatories signed the deal in March of 2018.
